5 things that new administrators can do right now to start the year off right.
1. Get to know your people. We all know how important it is to build relationships. Brett shares a few things to consider when it comes to relationship-building. 2. Lead without being asked. No one should have to ask us to do the menial tasks around campus. If you see something that needs to be done, take the initiative. Don't wait for your principal to tell you what to do.

3. Model excellence. The beginning of the year is a great time to model all of the things you want to see on your campus. Culture starts with you.

4. Get into classrooms early and often. It should not be a surprise when an administrator walks into a classroom. It should be a normal part of teaching and learning. As administrators, we are responsible for building trust with our teachers and for helping teachers and students feel comfortable when administrators visit their classes.

5. Take time for reflection. Intentionally setting time aside to engage in reflection is one of the most powerful ways to accelerate your growth as a new administrator.
