Reviewer Mike Perkins calls the redesigned 2018 Kia Rio5 an incredible deal and perhaps the most “fiscally responsible” option in the subcompact segment. Starting below $14,000, the Rio is a top seller for Kia in overseas markets in both sedan (Rio) and hatchback (Rio5) form. And while the base trim’s manual locks, windows, and side mirrors may take you back in time, the flagship EX offers the Uvo infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, not to mention a forward-collision warning system with auto braking.
All Rios get a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder with 130 hp and 119 lb-ft that’s estimated at 28 mpg city, 37 highway, 32 combined. Perkins averaged closer to the mid-30s over his week with the car, and while he didn’t find its power provocative, he did enjoy driving it, particularly since he didn’t have to wait for a turbo to spool at low speeds. Perkins also had plenty of headroom for his 6’4” frame, even in the backseat. Read the full review on CarGurus: [ Ссылка ]
