Sow perennial seeds in autumn as they need a period of cold (stratification) in order to germinate.
1. Fill the pot with peat free compost. Use a soil press to ensure an even surface for sowing.
2. Take a small pinch of the seeds and sprinkle over the top of the compost.
3. Add a light covering of compost and horticultural grit. Then place outside overwinter or in a cold frame.
4. When they germinate in spring make sure they are in a cool but light place and protect from frosts ideally a cold frame.
5. Plant the seedlings out in a sunny spot in your garden after the last risk of frost has past.
This flower is listed for its nectar by several butterflies and bees.
