Individuals with autism can experience severe sensory issues and anxiety. As a result, the world can be a very scary place for someone with autism. There can be high levels of anxiety and sensory overload.
This is a short film by Alex Lowery. Alex is autistic and was diagnosed at four. As a child Alex found the world a horrifying place. He had heightened senses and a language of his own that very few people could understand. In this video Alex talks about these early memories.
This film was based on the first chapter of Alex's book, 'Thinking Club: A Filmstrip of My Life As a Person With Autism'. If you want to buy the book, check out the links below.
