Promos and sign-off sequence for PBS member station KLRN San Antonio and its satellite at the time, KLRU Austin.
KLRU had only been on the air for ten months at the time this was recorded. From its 1962 sign-on until then, San Antonio-licensed KLRN served both markets from studios on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin and a transmitter located halfway between San Antonio and Austin, near the town of Wimberly.
KLRN and KLRU simulcasted until 1984, when KLRU was spun off into its own operation and eventually formed its own management organization.
Unfortunately, the recording suffered from significant over-the-air interference.
