THE 21 BEAD WRIST MALA
The 21 bead wrist Mala is both decorative as well as being a useful Meditation tool. Use the Mala to count your breaths. The 21 beads represent the number of breaths one normally breathes in a two minute period. Each time you take a complete breath pass a bead between your fingers, when you come to the guru bead, the larger bead, turn the Mala around and start over. If you do this five times you have meditated for 10 minutes. To improve concentration place the count at the gap at the top of the inhalation to bring about more energy, or the bottom of the exhalation for more relaxation.
