Tightening rivets on cookware – especially tin-lined copper cookware – is a common process during restoration and re-tinning. The hardest part is actually putting together the tools you need to do it – the tightening itself is quite easy as processes goes.
The most important things to remember are that you must not hammer directly on the rivets or the handle, and you must have something strong enough to brace the cookware on, on the interior side.
The rest is your strength and a bit of finagling.
