DR ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER
Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger was given an honorary doctorate by Chapman University this week at the college's Orange County campus.
Chapman University gives the degree to people who distinguish themselves through contributions to academia, community service, business and industry or the arts.
They choose people who have an emphasis placed on national or international influence.
Former Mr Universe, Schwarzenegger is being recognized through his contributions as an advocate of children issues, especially education and fitness. He recently travelled to all 50 states of the US urging youth to stay in shape, as President Bush's champion for fitness and health.
The 54-year-old star of the 'Terminator' films and 1994's 'True Lies' has also heavily promoted a ballot initiative that would help finance extracurricular activities and tutoring assistance for kindergarten through ninth-grade students in California.
The action hero has also served as an ambassador to the Special Olympics and chairman of the Inner-City Games Foundation.
