Ms.Pankaja Sethi is a wandering Indian textile designer working with indigenous women and weavers of India. Her story started with recreating, reviving and reinterpreting traditional forms into contemporary textiles. Her experimentation on running unstitched fabric across rural and semi-urban spaces of India is creating a space for the new audience that is interested in nuances of lost tradition and participating in creating transitions adapted from Indian traditions.
Being the founder of "Kala Aur Katha" and "Pankaja Sethi Studio", she aims to revive indigenous designs and educate and inspire younger generations. Her textile artwork gained a spot at the ‘Fabric of Being‘ exhibition at the Nairobi Summit, ICPD supported by UNFPA in 2019. She is recipient of Ministry of Culture fellowship 2018-20, Sahapedia-UNESCO fellowship 2017-18. Her designs also gained spotlight at the 'Lakme Fashion Week' in 2018. Her work continues to fascinate and influence people's minds.
