Vietnamese Beef Salad 😋
Eye round beef
Fresh herbs (I used: mint, basil, cultantro, cilantro, rice paddy herb, green onions)
2 Limes
Peanuts
1/2 whole onion
Rice crackers on side
Fish sauce marinade
3 garlic
2-5 chili (more if you want more spice)
1 Tbsp sugar
2 TBsp fishsauce
1/2 lime
(Adjust as needed)
Pickle whole onion
Slice onion thinly
In a bowl, add 1-2 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 cup of water and 1 cup of ice.
Place sliced onions into bowl and let sit for 10-15mins
Fish sauce for dipping (steps not shown in video)
2Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp fish sauce
10 Tbsp water
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp chili
1 Tbsp lime juice
Step:
Cut Eye round beef as thin as possible
Add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp chicken powder and 1 tsp sugar
Squeeze one whole lime onto beef
Let marinate in fridge for 20-30mins
Make pickle onions (see above)
Clean all fresh herbs of choice and chop up
Take meat out of fridge and squeeze all juice out
Add marinate fish sauce (see above)
Fry some garlic and shallots
Add to beef and mix all well
Then add beef onto fresh herbs
Add a little fresh lime
Add more dried shallots
Add peanuts
Eat with rice cracker!! And dipping sauce!!
