"Kukeri" is a traditional Bulgarian ritual that scares evil spirits away. The Kukeri walk and dance through the village ringing bells and making as much noise as they possibly can to welcome good harvest, health, and happiness to the village for the year ahead.

After going around the village they gather in the main square and dance wildly to amuse the crowd. People are welcome to join the traditional Bulgarian "horo" dance and be part of the party.
