The Prince and Princess of Wales swapped the plush surroundings of Kensington Palace for a wet afternoon in the Welsh countryside as they abseiled down a cliff in the Brecon Beacons.
The Prince and Princess arrived at Bannau Brycheiniog, near Merthyr Tydfil, dressed in hiking gear as they took on the role of mountain rescuers in the South Wales Valley.
The Princess beamed as she descended a rock face and was heard telling her husband: "We're not racing," before heading over the cliff edge.
The royals were guided through the process by the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, a volunteer-run organisation that responds to calls 24 hours a day, all year round.
