The circular economy is a framework that can help us tackle some of our biggest global challenges – including waste, biodiversity loss, and climate change. But the transition to a circular economy will not happen without innovation across all sectors at scale.
We are seeing unicorns emerging and startups scaling significantly (Apeel and Back Market are great examples). Still, we need more urgency, collaboration and momentum across innovation, investment, business and policy to ensure the solutions succeed in changing how our economy works.
That’s why the Ellen MacArthur Foundation is leading the Innovation Day initiative in the Festival de Economía Circular, a hybrid event in Lima, Peru, on the 27th, 28th and 29th of September.
A two-hour live-streamed session on 29th September will include interviews with 4-5 innovators to dig into the why, the how, and the what next of their endeavours, as well as a panel session with different types of funders to discuss the practical elements of scaling such innovations.
