The United Nations Security Council has adopted a draft resolution demanding a halt to the ongoing siege by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces of El-Fasher in Sudan's northern Darfur region.
Russia broke the unanimity of the Council by abstaining while 14-members voted in favour of the text.
Conflict erupted in Sudan in April last year between Sudan's Armed Forces and the RSF and has since created the world's largest displacement crisis at close to 10 million people.
