If you do huge miles and are looking for a boot that will last for a decade or more, then perhaps a Daytona boot would better fit the bill. For the money, however, the TCX X-Five Plus GTX boot really does take some beating. Constructed from full-grain leather, you get counters in the heel and toe, an integrated gear change pad, a Gore-Tex waterproof membrane, and so on. Billy explains all in this review.
