Suikoden IV ( Genso Suikoden 4 ) is a Japanese role playing game (J-RPG) developed by Konami for the PlayStation 2 in 2004/2005. Suikoden created by Yoshitaka Murayama loosely based on the classical Chinese novel Shui Hu Zhuan ( Water Margin / All Men Are Brother ). Suikoden 3 takes place approximately 150 years before the events of the first Suikoden game. The story of Suikoden IV centers on the conflict between Island Nation and Kooluk Empire, and also about the Rune of Punishment. Suikoden IV located in archipelago and thus the world map is majority located in Sea, so the game focus on having a ship to explore the world map.
The game like usual have regular battle, duel and War is changed into Naval Battle. Suikoden IV also take out trinity system and now only have one silent protagonist named Razro / Lazlo. They also reduced the number of character participate in battle from 6 to 4. The game has high encounter rate and the story is good but too short. But the story actually continued and explore more in Suikoden Tactic which set in the same location and timeline.
Suikoden IV story focus on Razro and Snowe Vingerhut, a new Knight in Island of Razril. They story explain about Internal Conflict between many state of Island Nation and also conflict between them and Kooluk Empire. There are also Rune of Punishment, one of the 27 True Runes, that kinda Evil. The Rune of Punishment governs both atonement and forgiveness, and is unusual in that it consumes the life of the bearer with use; once the previous bearer dies, it immediately jumps to someone nearby.
Suikoden was famous for its great Story plot and lots of lots of character, though the plot of this game the weakest one, but it still good, and it weak more because it is too short. It also bring our Suikoden Character from former game like Ted, Jeane and Viki.
I mostly use Scott Ong Guide from gamefaqs as a reference, this is not a blind playthrough.
This video is a Let's Play, but since i use a walkthrough , it will make a perfect playthrough with more sidequest and secret content shown. I also will recruit all 108 star of destiny / character. This game will also get the best ending. Also I Will skip most of the boring part like dungeon crawling, move from one place to other, regular battle. But i will keep talk to NPC and will show you what they talk about, i will also show Boss Battle. I will never skip any cut scene. I will skip most random encounter Battle.
