The advent of reusable space shuttles means we are closer than ever. But how close are we from Beaming Energy to Earth from Space? Project Solaris will assess the feasibility of Space Based Solar Power and if an operational system can be put in place by early 2040s. This video looks at what we currently know about Solaris and Space Based Solar Power (SBSP), explores the required transmission efficiency (to compete with Earth Based Solar Power), and investigates challenges associated with the project.

Calculations assume that space based solar farms would be in geostationary orbits, and that there would be negligible required cooling differences between Earth based, and Space based solar panels.

The aim of this channel is to spread awareness of our impact on the environment and to outline ways which we can make our planet more sustainable. This will be achieved by spreading awareness of the importance of net-zero emissions, detailing state-of-the-art technology which could help us to achieve net-zero, and outlining methods to contribute to net-zero emissions.
