There are many career mistakes that can slow down your career progress. You will have a harder time achieving your career goals if you commit any of these mistakes. In this video, I have shared 5 career mistakes to avoid. This can be a great career advice for youngsters. The first on the list is going on-site. I know many people may disagree with me but hear me out. You can decide after listening to my argument whether Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella are the exceptions or not.

When you go onsite you are going to a different country on a visa and there are many restrictions that you have to face. Once the flexibility goes down you cannot apply for another job. These companies also need to have an explanation as to why they are having someone work on a visa instead of employing a local. When you go on-site, there are certain rules that you have to follow.

There are many long-term commitments when you go for onsite work. Going for an on-site job is not a great thing for many of us. Most of the jobs except management consulting are mostly a trap if you go for on-site work. These long-term commitments can hamper your growth because AI is rapidly changing the job landscape. The existential AI career advice is necessary if you want to understand how you can stay relevant in the current and future job market. The second thing is the impact of education.

The only thing colleges give you is a friend circle, apart from that everything else is available on YouTube. They entitle us to a few opinions that we hold on to for a long time. So, don’t hold the opinion that because you come from a particular University, you will not do a particular type of work. It is one of the biggest career mistakes you can indulge in. The third thing is the impact of managers. If your manager is killing your attitude or the overall motivation to work then you will not even think about growth. You will think about survival.

What should you do in this scenario? You should work for some time and then move to another company. Nothing wrong with that. Trying to explain yourself every single time and get around your manager’s bad attitude is one of the most common mistakes at first job out there. The next thing that can kill your career is working for a big company like Google, Microsoft, and Meta. These companies pay you well and you will have a great This will kill your career growth over

This comfort will stop you from improving if things go south. The next thing that can also destroy your career is uncertain times. But you can still navigate it. Bad situations come around all the time. A few years ago it was Covid and in a few years, it will be something else. The sixth and final thing that can harm your career is your own attitude. If you become comfortable at any point in your career then it will lead to a lot of difficulty in your career progress. Trying to manage your career growth along with prioritizing family time is always a difficult question. You can deal with it over time if you try to stabilize your finances and work on creating multiple sources of income.
