Vestibular neuritis is an inner ear disorder that affects the nerve of the ear called the vestibulocochlear nerve. When the nerve swells, it interferes with how information is normally interpreted in the brain. Vestibular neuritis can affect people of all ages, but it rarely affects children.
Symptoms include
● Sudden, severe spinning or swaying sensation (vertigo)
● Dizziness
● Balance difficulties
● Nausea and vomiting
● Difficulty concentrating
The most severe symptoms (severe vertigo & dizziness) last for only a couple of days but can make it difficult to perform daily tasks.
However, some people experience balance and dizziness issues for several months.
You don't have to endure this. Book a consultation with us if you're experiencing any of these symptoms or related issues.
