Do you know who made pizza for the first time? Pizza is a yummy and popular dish all over the world. People in ancient times used to put different toppings on flatbread. But the pizza we love today was made in Naples, Italy, in the late 1800s. Rafael Esposito was a pizzeria owner who made a pizza with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and basil for the Italian King and Queen in 1889. He named his pizza after Queen Margherita and it became a symbol of Italian food.
