Iqbal Academy Pakistan organized a special seminar at Aiwan-e-Iqbal to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Justice (R) Dr. Javed Iqbal, son of Allama Muhammad Iqbal on 22nd October 2024.
Justice (R) Nasira Javed Iqbal presided over the ceremony, while former Vice Chancellor of University of Education, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Abbas, was the guest of honor. Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan Dr. Abdur Rauf Rafiqui presented the words of Thanks.
The seminar featured prominent speakers, including renowned analyst Sajjad Mir, journalist Farrukh Suhail Goindi, Iqbal scholar Dr. Waheed-uz-Zaman Tariq, former President Urdu Department of GC University, Prof. Shafiq Ajmi, renowned author Wali Muhammad Khan, and head, Head of Academic Department Iqbal Academy, Dr. Taher Hamid Tanoli.
Dr. Muzaffar Abbas said Dr. Javed Iqbal was a sufi-natured person who always encouraged young students. He was very positive personality and had great knowledge.
Dr. Tahir Hameed Tanoli said Dr. Javed Iqbal was a guardian of the Pakistan Movement's ideology and his services to Pakistan's creation and development would always be remembered.
Farrukh Suhail Goindi called Dr. Javed Iqbal a thinker of his time who struggled for Justice and Human Rights throughout his life.
Prof. Shafiq Ajmi highlighted Dr. Javed Iqbal's academic achievements, including his PhD from Cambridge University on Islamic political philosophy.
Dr. Wahee-uz-Zaman Tariq mentioned Dr. Javed Iqbal's notable books, including "Nazriya Pakistan", "Miras-e-Quaid-e-Azam", "Afkar-e-Preshan", "Hayat-e-Iqbal", "Zinda Rood", and "Khud nosht Apna Gareban Chak".
Sajjad Mir said Dr. Javed Iqbal identified modern science and technology as the key to overcoming challenges facing the Pakistani nation and Muslim
Justice (R) Nasira Javed Iqbal recalled her husband's life, saying he lived by Allama Iqbal's verse: "Mera Tareq ameeri nhe Faqeeri ha, Khudi na bech Ghareebi main naam paida kr." He spent most time of his life in academic and literary works.
Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui thanked the guests and acknowledged contributing significantly its activities Dr. Javed Iqbal's 21-year served as Vice President Iqbal Academy Pakistan. Iqbal
