The Lyceum Student Speaker Series offers Lyceum students a chance to explore their intellectual interests in a public forum.
In this talk, Lyceum Scholar Emily Bowling focuses on the central question of Plato's work: "What is the beautiful itself?" In particular, she considers the three answers offered by Hippias, their implications, and their relevance to our own lives. Ms. Bowling's presentation represents her work on Plato for her Lyceum Thesis. The Lyceum Thesis allows Lyceum Scholars to work one-on-one with a professor to produce a serious work of scholarship as the capstone of their undergraduate careers.
