This Melbourne Art Tram was designed by mother and son duo, Lyn and Coree Thorpe (Yorta Yorta/ Wurundjeri/ Gunnai/ Gunditjmara and Yorta Yorta/ Wurundjeri/ Wamba Wemba/ Barapa Barapa) and it hit the tracks in June earlier this year.
In response to the theme ‘Blak Futurism’, Lyn and Coree’s work speaks to their Aboriginal continuum. In their words, “Our past, present, future, forever Dreaming. Creation travelling, connecting-up grassroots mob. Paying homage to our Ancestors and Country we belong, caretaking, protecting knowledge from our lands.”
