Interview with a Japanese Blacksmith: Katsushige Anryu of Masakage Knives. Anryu-san is a legendary Japanese blacksmith, best known for the Masakege Kumo and Mizu, as well as his own line, Anryu knives. Nowadays his nephew Takumi Ikeda-san has taken over as head of Anryu knives, but Anryu-san is still very much involved in production. In this interview, Anryu-san tells us about why they started Takefu Knife Village and why hand-forged knives are better, in his opinion.
