The Tumak 24 exercise at the Bemowo Piskie Training Area (BPTA), Poland, on November 27, 2024, showcased the strength and cooperation of multinational forces in addressing modern warfare challenges. In this exercise, the U.S. Army, alongside NATO allies from Poland, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania, demonstrated exceptional capabilities in wet gap crossings, a tactical operation designed to overcome natural obstacles such as rivers or bodies of water with speed and precision.
Wet gap crossings are not merely a technical challenge but also a test of courage and coordination. Troops must synchronize the movement of armored vehicles, artillery, and infantry across difficult terrain while maintaining surprise and defense. During Tumak 24, they proved that interoperability and international cooperation could overcome any obstacle.
Additionally, the exercise included the Combined Arms Live-Fire Exercise (CALFEX), a direct live-fire scenario integrating the strengths of various units in a simulated battlefield. Tumak 24 not only reinforced NATO partnerships but also showcased the readiness and adaptability of participating forces to respond to complex tactical scenarios.
