STORYLINE:
A parked car bomb exploded near a main bus station in the Iraqi capital on Tuesday, killing five civilians and wounding 18, police said.
The blast also damaged a minivan, which had bloodstains on it, at the site in the centre of Baghdad.
People gathered to look at the wreckage of the vehicles.
Some of the people injured in the attack were taken to Ibn al-Nafis hospital in the city for treatment.
Earlier on Tuesday, a suicide car bomber drove his car into an Iraq army checkpoint in Baghdad, killing one soldier and wounding another, police said.
The attack occurred at 6:45 a.m. (0345 GMT) and damaged nearby shops in the predominantly Sunni western neighborhood of Jami'a, police said.
A roadside bomb exploded 300 meters (yards) away about five minutes later but it caused no casualties, police said.
On Monday, relatives of people killed in a series of attacks in the northern city of Kirkuk collected the bodies of their relatives from the central Morgue in the city.
Minibuses and trucks with bodies in back were seen leaving the hospital morgue and heading towards a cemetery to be buried.
The bombs killed at least 18 people and wounding more than 50 others, police said.
