Below is an explanation of different types of cartridges:
Grey ring on cartridge number 022801. (Thermostatic)
For Gravity, Pumped Gravity, and balanced high pressure systems.
May also be used for Combi boiler systems when flow regulator is fitted.
Pink ring on cartridge number 022802. (Thermostatic)
For Combi boilers and Multipoint water heaters or unbalanced systems.
Green ring on cartridge number 022803. (Thermostatic)
For balanced high pressure (Obsolete) now use Grey
Blue ring on cartridge number 022804. (Non Thermostatic)
Not suitable for Combi boilers and Multipoints, we advise replacing Blue with Blue
White ring on cartridge number 022805. (Non Thermostatic)
Short cartridge only fitted to the 430 range between 1993 and 1996
