Pop star Labrinth has a challenge for two young students: To perform a poem to an audience for the first time. They are given tips from experienced performer, Caroline Bird, before taking to the stage at the Latitude festival. Labrinth then catches up with them to find out what they've learnt from the experience.
This clip is from the BBC series Labrinth's Speak Out. Pop star Labrinth sets young volunteers challenges to help them 'speak out' in public with confidence and clarity. The challenges include presenting the news, commentating at a football match, taking part in a debate and reading poetry at a festival.

This clip could be used to help students build self-confidence in public speaking, with tips given on how to give a successful performance. Students could be encouraged to perform a poem of their own choosing to their classmates. This could also be useful as a part of careers advice for students interested in a career in poetry or live performance.
