Port de Sóller, located in northwestern Mallorca, is a charming, little coastal community that has become well-known and famous for its old tram, big bay with a protected harbour, and attractive surroundings. It's a terrific site to eat fish and shellfish, and the well-equipped marina is a great starting point for yacht and sailing expeditions to nearby bays like Sa Calobra, which was featured in the Hollywood film Cloud Atlas.This modest coastal village's location has played a significant influence in its history. Due to the Tramuntana mountain range separating it from the rest of Mallorca, previous
generations had to rely on water to conduct business. It's no surprise that Port de Sóller is so intimately identified with seafaring and the mediterranean, given its remote location.
