Ukraine says that Russia has seized control of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant near the city of Enerhodar on March 4, 2022. A Russian air strike in the early hours caused a training facility at the plant to catch fire, prompting fears that the plant itself could become affected if the blaze spread. It was eventually put out by emergency services roughly an hour after their arrival, according to officials. Authorities said there were no casualties and that station personnel are continuing to monitor power units on site. World leaders including US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson have condemned the attack.
