This beautiful 9th gen Accord J35 automatic Turbo was originally N/A from factory. The owner installed Slickfab's Turbo Kit using 700hp racing MAF and the tune was done before us using K-Tuner V2. But the car had some issues and ECU would go into limp mode when fully pushed. Our partner in Florida contacted us about the issue. And we suggested that we should go with a reflash tune using Stock Original ECU alone, because we would be able to do custom codes and change the way ECU work in the way we need it to for what's required.
So we did the firmware reverse engineering and the tuning using 100% Stock ECU without any extra hardware needed, only OBD2 interface device was required when doing the flashes. The car now also has a manual boost controller and making 7.5psi peak boost (154kPa or 0.54bar peak) right after VTEC engagement, and maintaining 5.5psi (138kPa or 0.38bar) up top. We did rescaled the MAF sensor to make the calculation right and accurate for the ecu to calculate the load and everything, then we adjusted injector duration for each load and removed the limiters required to make fueling go right. Target Fueling is aimed for controlled Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) to make turbo last long. Ignition timing is cosiderate for a street car that's being driven daily, to make things last long.
We make the VTEC engage at 4,000rpm underboost, and 5,000rpm without boost. Yes! It's VTEC engagement by demand! VCM is turned off and FAN control was adjusted to make the FAN comes on earlier than stock. Speed Limiter and Throttle Plate Limiter are completely removed!
Transmission is also holding up fine, we do more aggressive torque reduction between shifts to make the shifts firmer and crisper, thus saving the transmission under more load in the progress.
Fuel used is OCT93 (RON97). It was street tuned with full mode 22 datalogging. We estimate the power to be around 400hp+- with this current setup.
The owner is very happy. We are also very happy and very glad to have the opportunity to be a part of the happiness.
