Forecasters predict Tropical Storm Idalia will become a formidable hurricane and strike Florida’s Gulf Coast.

The storm is projected to come ashore between Tampa Bay and Panama City between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as a strong Category 2, unleashing “a life-threatening storm surge and hurricane-force winds,” according to the National Hurricane Center.
