“Trinkets & Tinsel” is a Christmas song that feels festive and folky, with a sprinkling of bluegrass. It was written by Joy Booth in December 2018, on the 2nd anniversary of her father’s sudden passing. Joy is accompanied on this track by the brilliant Bluegrass band, Pilgrim St.

The song remembers happy Christmases gone by - times of pure celebration and merriment. It also laments the absence of loved ones and the struggle to enjoy the festivities while battling with grief.

This is the first release from Joy’s debut album “All You Were”, which was recorded under the expert guidance of Mark Cahill in Crookedwood Studios, in the heart of the Boyne Valley. Joy and Pilgrim St are joined on the album by a stellar cast of Meath musicians. All You Were is due for release in January 2023.
