This 2 hectare cliff is located in the Bukambero area and boasts an incredible view on the Sumba Strait. The land is set right between the cliff and the Sunset road (aka Jalan Raya Pantura), the brand new government road that is following the coast line from Tambolaka.
Because of the location of the land, sunrise AND sunset can be seen from the property.
At high tide the light blue/green waters touch the bottom of the cliff. At low tide the waters reveal a beautiful white sand beach.
There are very few waves on this side of the island unlike in the south os Sumba. Snorkelling and diving are amazing. You can see turtles and fish swimming in the water right below.
As of today, it still take about 25-30 minutes to go to the land as the road is being completed with a brand new bridge linking it to Tambolaka (Waikelo Harbour). Once the ongoing work is complete (this year), it will take only about 15 minutes from the airport to the property. Electricity was non-existent in most areas until recently.
Electricity poles will be installed alongside the new road that is passing right behind the property. This will be done within the next few months.
The water situation is the same as everywhere in Sumba. Water can be bought by cubic tonnes and brought to the land by trucks. The alternative would be to dig a well which is very feasible too as the equipment and workmanship to do so is available on the island.
