Banjir bandang melanda kawasan PT Freeport Indonesia di Mile 74, Distrik Tembagapura, Papua Tengah, pada Sabtu (11/2). Sebanyak 14 orang pekerja PT Freeport Indonesia dilaporkan berhasil dievakuasi setelah terjebak di tengah banjir bandang. Namun, dua warga dilaporkan hilang, satu di antaranya adalah JM yang ditemukan meninggal.

Selain itu, banjir bandang tersebut menyebabkan beberapa jalan rusak dan ditutup sementara. Sejumlah alat berat milik PT Freeport Indonesia juga turut terseret banjir hingga rusak tertimbun pasir dan bebatuan.

Flash flood hit PT Freeport Indonesia’s operational area at Mile 74, Tembagapura District, Central Papua, on Saturday (2/11). As many as 14 PT Freeport Indonesia employees were reportedly evacuated after being trapped in the middle of the flash flood. However, two residents were reportedly missing, one of whom was JM who was found dead.

In addition to that, the flash flood caused several roads to be damaged and temporarily closed. A number of heavy equipment owned by PT Freeport Indonesia were also swept away by the flood and they were damaged by sand and rocks.
