In Transformers, Shockwave is one of the most popular Decepticons and comes in many shapes and sizes. From his introduction in 1985, he has returned again and again to plague the Autobots. Captain Kyle goes through his evolution from the very first G1 toy to the latest versions.

Shockwave was depicted as a very loyal Decepticon in the Generation One cartoon, who guarded Cybertron on Megatron’s orders for 4 million years. The Marvel Comic version was quite different and took over from Megatron several times, only to lose his position after a run-in with Fortress Maximus. But he came back from that, eventually. He has also graced video games, IDW Comics, new animated shows, and even appeared in the Bumblebee movie.
