The water tower on Centerville Road is one of three in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. It plays an integral role for the community, storing/pressurizing clean drinking water while providing a high elevation to support telecommunication utilities.
In addition, the tower is highly visible from a busy freeway, giving the City an platform to showcase their civic pride.
The City turned to SEH to perform planned reconditioning work. This included scheduling the draining of the water tank; surface preparation and coatings specifications, administration and inspection both inside and outside; coordination of structural appurtenances, telecommunications and containment and facilitating the design of the bear with the city council and painting contractor.
The project was voted #6 in a field of 300+ water tanks in the nationwide Tank of the Year contest presented by epoxy manufacturer Tnemec.
