The two-day seminar titled “Badalta Maharashtra (Changing Maharashtra)” has been organised by Loksatta in association with TJSB Cooperative Bank. Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said rampant encroachment had led to the destruction of a large number of flora and fauna in the state and the government had now taken up satellite mapping of forest areas as the first step towards conservation.
