Cabinet Subcommittee To Submit Report On Irregularities In Previous Govt Within 45 Days
The cabinet sub-committee in Andhra Pradesh constituted to probe the alleged scandals of TDP regime will submit its report within 45 days. The committee will probe the "irregularities and scams" that took place in all the departments.
Chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy held a meeting with the cabinet sub-committee members at his residence on Sunday and laid a track to expedite the inquiry. CM had also asked the committee members to look into serious violations in awarding contracts and works in different departments. After two-hour long meeting with CM, agriculture minister and committee member Kurasala Kannababu told the media that they will meet at least once in every four days to finish their job early. He said that the CM would also review the progress of the sub-committee every fortnight and provide guidance to dig deep into the issue.
“Saving public money is prime agenda of probing into the scandals took place during TDP regime. We have already got initial leads into the irregularities of the previous regime and much deeper probe will unearth big-scandals,” said Kannababu.
He said that several studies have already indicated that high corruption prevailed during previous government and they would also take such reports into consideration to go deep. He said that Chandrababu Naidu had dashed the hopes of the commoners who wished that the state would prosper in the hands of an experienced leader in 2014. He explained that their report would be as transparent as their government.
Finance minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said that they would investigate the scandals of all the departments. He said that they would conduct the first meeting of the cabinet sub-committee on Monday and start their work. He said that they would also take up probe into the land pooling scheme and allocation of plots in the capital city area. The minister said that TDP leaders have not left even a single work without minting monies. He said that they have looted monies even from the eradication of mosquito menace programme.
Cabinet sub-committee members, including PR minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy, water resources minister P Anil Kumar Yadav and industries minister Mekapati Gautham Reddy, attended the meeting with CM. CCLA Manmohan Singh would assist the committee as its secretary.
