After making the original, “How to Grow Caladium” video a few months ago I realized the topic of digging caladium bulbs and storing caladium bulbs needed its own video. How to grow caladiums indoors isn’t always easy in winter so I prefer to store them dormant, and the caladiums really prefer that as well. Caladiums as houseplants is not unobtainable, just challenging when the day lengths are so short, and they aren’t receiving warm, humid growing conditions. I apply the general concepts in this video about caladium winter care to other plants like Curucuma gingers, canna rhizomes, colocasia and alocasia, just to name a few. I think caladiums are one of the easiest plants to grow that need to be left dormant in winter. Caladium dormancy isn’t very complicated, everyone should be able to keep these plants and enjoy them every year.
