During the day of March 17, 2020, Amtrak's second set of the new Acela, known as the "Avelia Liberty" was transported from the Alstom plant in Hornell, NY to the Amtrak Penn Coach Yard in Philadelphia. This is the second set to be completed and transported, the first set was transferred to TTCI in Colorado for FRA testing. The second set will eventually be testing on the Northeast Corridor shortly.
The train consists of P42DC No. 112, P42DC No. 38, a Viewliner baggage, Viewliner Diner, the Acela set, another Viewliner Baggage and P42DC No. 104 in the rear.
To be transported to Philly, it was routed on various Norfolk Southern lines to Harrisburg before being transferred to Amtrak's Keystone Corridor to Philly. Here it is going through Overbrook station in West Philadelphia nearing the end of it's delivery run. Enjoy!
