Celebrated 19th century mountain man and trail guide Antoine Leroux was the Forrest Gump of the 19th Century. He escorted 12 major western expeditions from 1846 - 1860 including the Mormon Battalion and the 35th parallel route that blazed the trail for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad.
