The hardest freshwater fish to catch, in my area of the world, is the muskellunge. And even among those that have fished worldwide, there is still little argument that the musky is one of the most difficult fish to trick into eating. In both fresh and saltwater, muskies are just tough! But how hard is it to catch a naturally occurring (non-stocked) hybrid tiger muskellunge? Well, that is a good question!
Tiger muskie numbers do vary quite a bit from system to system around the country but in my area of northeast Wisconsin, I would rank them as the rarest fish that swims! Now factor in the size, let's say a BIG tiger... and they are even MORE RARE! But, no matter where they are caught, there is no denying that tigers are some of the most beautiful creatures to swim.
Join me in this very special episode of the sixth season of Musky Mastery as I send my 500 Buchertail "grape flame" out on a super long-bomb cast and connect with a bruiser about a mile away! I knew if anything was going to hit that far away that I would have my hands full and the pressure intensified as I saw that I was tangling with a trophy tiger musky!
