Hunting down a grinding noise in the drive train. I replaced both CV axles (driver side was very worn, some improvement, passenger side was not worn out, no change).
This is the inner axle shaft (CV Intermediate Shaft) on passenger side (right side). I'm wondering if it is supposed to move this much or not.
There is some noise at the transaxle when I rotate the passenger wheel, and I'm wondering if that is actually where my problem is (hoping not), a bearing or the differential unit inside the transaxle. Or if maybe this inner shaft might be making the noise.
The noise goes away when driving straight, but when you turn at speed the noise becomes very loud and reverberates in the cabin. Turning harder at higher speeds makes the noise louder.
