• May start in the area around the bellybutton, and move to the lower right-hand side of the belly. Or it may start in the lower right-hand side of the belly.
• May be worse when the on moving, taking deep breaths, being touched, or coughing and sneezing
• May be felt all over the belly if the appendix bursts
Other common symptoms include:
• Upset stomach (nausea) and vomiting
• Loss of appetite
• Fever and chills
• Changes in behavior
#Diagnosis#

Blood tests.
Sometimes CT Scan may be needed
#Complications of Appendicitis#
• Appendicular Lump – It occurs when surrounding bowel and sheet of fat called omentum wraps around the inflamed appendix.
• Burst appendix with localised infection to right lower abdomen (localised peritonitis)
• Appendicular Abscess – Formation of pus around the appendix.
• Burst appendix with spread of infection to whole abdominal cavity (generalised peritonitis).
#Treatment#
Treatment will depend on your symptoms, age, general health and complications. Appendicitis is a medical emergency. It is likely the appendix will burst and cause a serious, deadly infection. For this reason, your doctor will likely advise for surgery to remove the appendix.
Surgery can be done by Open method or Laparoscopic method.
If complications occur then most of surgeons do open surgery, however in expert hands all complicated appendicitis patients can be managed by laparoscopic surgery.
#Advantages of laparoscopic surgery are……
• Few small stitches
• Less pain
• No need of dressings
• Patient can walk early
• Patient can take food early
• Early discharge from hospital
• Minimal loss of work/school
• No long term complications of big scar on abdomen
