During the 2021 Paris Air Forum, urban air mobility (UAM) pioneer Volocopter announced it had kicked off its test flight campaign in Paris. The first test flights took place at Paris’ Le Bourget airport in early June 2021. With the VoloCity model on-site, Volocopter demonstrated the progress it’s making toward rolling out electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft as an addition to existing transportation in the Paris region.
This is merely the beginning of Volocopter's test flight campaign in the French capital. The UAM pioneer promises much more and so will be putting the eVTOL aircraft through its paces in the run-up to commercial launch, which is slated for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Besides the VoloCity, Volocopter also has two more aircraft in its fleet, the VoloDrone (an eVTOL aircraft for cargo deliveries) and the VoloConnect (a four-seater eVTOL set to ferry passengers to suburban destinations in time and on style).
But for now, all eyes are on the VoloCity – and the skies it plans to become the master of!
