Frantz Fanon has been invoked in all kinds of ways since the beginning of the anticolonial insurgency known as "Operation Al Aqsa Flood" began and the brutal, disproportionate collective punishment that has been inflicted upon Palestinian people came in response.
Most of the Fanonians analyzing these events have been discussing Fanon's views on decolonization as a process of liberation struggle.
Along with being a militant and a theorist, Fanon was also a psychiatrist and many of his insights on colonization and decolonization came from his work as a psychiatrist.
For this episode we'll talk to Lara Sheehi and Stephen Sheehi, authors of Psychoanalysis Under Occupation: Practicing Resistance in Palestine. They'll approach the discussion through a Fanonian perspective, bringing in psychoanalytic insights, and examining the settler colonial entity known as Israel and the Palestinian anticolonial struggle.
