The following experiment was performed :

-sharpen a Ai-De-Chef knife to 5-6 dps with a 700X bester
-2" of the edge had a 15 dps micro-bevel (medium rods)
-2" of the edge had a 20 dps micro-bevel (medium rods)

The micro-bevel was set with 20 pps.

The knives were used to slice cardboard through the 2" of edge until they were below 5% of optimal sharpness.

The challenge is to describe the outcome of the experiment in as much detail as possible and to *explain* the results - why it happened that way.
