This Silence, it puts your brothers behind bars...
Burns our sisters...
Silence is death...
but our voices will give us breath!
... It's time to break the silence!
We brought it in all pink to symbolise the Pink Triangle. The "Rosa Winkel" (german) was a sign that homosexuals were forced to wear in concentration camps under the nazi regime, as a sign of shame.
The sign was reclaimed by the community, and also became a sign of the SILENCE = DEATH movement, that stood tall agains the political decisions and attitude, that caused thousands of deaths during the HIV crisis in the 1980's.
In the year 2019 this theme is still relevant. Of course HIV is still present. But this theme you can also transfer to so many other problems in the world! People get diskriminated, murdered, captured or hurt, but we don't talk about that. We are not addressing the problems and speak up. And with that we will harm ourself in the end.
This show should show the process everybody can go through from being captured in silence to stand tall and lift up your voice! From being dead to finally breath again! Our voices are strong, we just have to have the courage to use them!
