'Stepping up for women and gender equality in Europe' – live interview with Nadège Lharaig from the Alliance for Gender Equality in Europe.
While there has been some progress on gender equality in Europe in the past decades, the situation is disconcerting: one in three women has experienced physical or sexual violence, women on average earn 16% less than their male counterparts and 43% of LGBTQIA+ people feel discriminated against.
Thus five organisations came together - Fondation Chanel, King Baudouin Foundation, Bodossaki Foundation and L’Oreal Fund for Women and JPMorgan & Chase Foundation forming the Alliance for Gender Equality in Europe, to bridge the gap in philanthropic giving and support frontline organisations working towards gender equality in Europe.
In this interview, we will meet with Nadège Lharaig, the programme manager at the Alliance, and talk to her about how it all started, the vision, mission and objectives of the Alliance and the upcoming calls for proposals.
